Evinrude / Johnson 2 + 4 Fuel Conditioner protects the complete fuel system, conditions fuel, and extends useful shelf life when added to fresh fuels. All operator and service literature encourages the use of 2 + 4 fuel conditioner, for day-to-day operation, particularly during periods of engine non-use. Gasoline, as purchased at the pump, has a guaranteed shelf life of three months. 2 + 4 fuel conditioner extends the useful life of fuel in a number of ways.

• Metal deactivators - to render brass or copper alloy chemically inactive toward gasoline
• Anti-oxidants - to slow the chemical breakdown of gasoline
